  Our rental, which was at opening, was over an hour late because the boat was not ready or fueled. We were also not allowed to tow a tube or a skiier, despite not being told that before paying. Pretty much every single item promised didn't occur, which is pretty disappointing when you pay a premium over 4th of July. (Note: Not tourists, we own a house a block off Lake Placid).

  I wish I had read these reviews before I decided to rent from these guys! The only reason I decided to use them was the credit card convenience...Captain Marney does not take credit cards and I rented with them last year and everything was perfect. What a huge mistake!! Not only did they charge me a 3% credit card fee, but they called me a day after I returned the boat that I had damaged it and are claiming that I have to pay for a replacement part PLUS two days rental fee because they claim they cannot rent the boat until the part gets replaced. It will end up costing me more money to hire a lawyer to fight this nonsense, but its worth it out of principle for they unethical way these guys treat their customers. BEWARE! I would use Captain Marney and would avoid these guys like the plague!!!
